The Office of Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein, Prosecutor Division, seeks applicants for the position of Domestic Violence Legal Advocate. This is a full time position with starting pay at $21.53 per hour with benefits, and would require ability to work a non-traditional workweek and/or work Saturday mornings. Working under the supervision of the Director of the Domestic Violence & Stalking Unit, the DV Legal Advocate will be responsible for providing advocacy services to victims of crime at various stages of criminal proceedings. This includes but is not limited to interviewing victims and witnesses, assessing the needs of victims, making appropriate referrals, preparing case files for prosecution, assisting in securing protection orders, and developing safety plans. It is preferred that applicants have pursued a course of study and/or have experience in the areas of Criminal Law, Criminal Justice, Criminology, Domestic Violence, Victim Services, and/or Social Work. Familiarity with the Franklin County Municipal Court is helpful but not required. Finally, applicants should be able to work independently, be effective at communicating with vulnerable populations, and maintain cooperative working relationships.
