Position Overview: Provide assistance to Project Management staff in conducting functions related to bidding, pre-construction, construction and post construction activities of Construction Management or General Contracting projects. Essential Job Functions Assist with the set-up and maintenance of those aspects of construction project management which include the planning and scheduling necessary prior to the start of the project. Assist in the expediting as necessary, to ensure proper and timely delivery of shop drawings, submittals, construction materials, change orders pricing and related approvals. Assist in the review of subcontractor and material supplier, shop drawings and submittals. Maintain and update computerized logs for tracking of submittals RFIs (Request for Information) and close-out documents. Assist in collecting as-built and close-out documents. Assist in preparing project files for archives. Participate in the maintenance of positive working relationships with subcontractors, customers, material suppliers and other internal and external individuals having an interest in the success of the project. EDUCATION/TRAINING Associates degree or equivalent, and one to three years practical experience in a similar position. Experience may offset educational requirements. EXPERIENCE Experience with Windows based software, Word, Excel etc. helpful. SKILLS Ability to influence and persuade to achieve desired outcomes. Strong analytical, problem solving, and negotiation skills. Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in a professional manner when dealing with employees, vendors and company contacts. Willingness to travel. Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Competent computer skills to perform essential functions listed above. Ability to listen to the needs of the prospect and analyze means and methods to resolve those needs in a professional and economical manner.
