AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF)
AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) has been providing testing, treatment, and advocacy in the fight against HIV/AIDS for over 25 years. The Foundation's motto of "Cutting-edge medicine and advocacy, regardless of ability to pay" has led to over 210,000 people in 28 countries around the world currently receiving treatment and care. The nonprofit's national business lines of Out of the Closet Thrift Stores and AHF Pharmacies directly fund these medical and activist efforts, with 96 cents of every dollar spent inside the stores directly funding global action. Founded in Los Angeles in 1987, AHF has offices, treatment clinics and testing teams in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, North America, and Europe. In January, the organization opened its first Ohio Healthcare Center in Columbus, which provides long-term, specialized, affordable care for people living with HIV. The clinic, located at 815 W. Broad Street, Suite 350, is open on Mondays from 12:00 - 5:00 pm, and Tuesday - Friday from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. On Mondays from 5:00 - 7:30 pm and on Thursdays from 1 :00 - 5:00 pm, the facility becomes an AHF Wellness Center providing free walk-in screening and treatment for gonorrhea, syphilis, and Chlamydia, as well as free HIV testing. Opening summer of 2013 at 1230 N. High Street in Columbus, an all-in-one facility will house an Out of the Closet Thrift Store, an AHF Pharmacy, and free HIV testing all under one roof. AHF Pharmacies can fill any prescription, and Out of the Closet Thrift Stores sell unique vintage clothing and furniture.
